Across our relaxed and supportive sessions you'll build the knowledge and confidence to approach birth calmly and positively.

Session One - Introduction to Labour and Birth

In this session, we'll guide you through the essentials of labour and birth.

We'll answer common questions like when to call the hospital, what to pack, and where you'll be giving birth.

You'll leave feeling confident, with a clear understanding of the stages of labour, the process of childbirth, and practical tips for your journey ahead.

Session Two - Pain Relief, Pushing and the Early Moments

Building on last week's session, we'll dive into pain relief options available during labour, as well as discuss the pushing stage, assisted births, and what to expect in the precious moments after your baby is born.

You'll leave with a better understanding of your choices and what happens as you approach the big day.

Session Three - Caesarean Birth, Induction and Informed Decision-Making

In this session, we'll begin with an in-depth discussion and practical exercise on caesarean birth.

Next, we'll cover labour induction, why it might be recommended and the steps involved.

We'll wrap up with a focus on informed decision-making and explore relaxation techniques to help you stay calm and confident throughout your journey.

Session Four - All About Feeding

In this session, we'll cover everything you need to know about feeding your newborn. From feeding patterns and frequency, to the different modes of feeding, we'll discuss it all! Along with plenty of practical tips to make feeding as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Session Five - Birth Partner Support and Practical Baby Care

In your final session, we'll begin with a group discussion on the important role of a birth partner and guide you through writing your birth preferences.

We'll then wrap up with hands-on baby care skills - everything from nappy changing and dressing to bathing and swaddling. Plus, we'll discuss newborn behaviours and share tips on how to settle your baby in those early days.

2-Hour Online Hypnobirthing Workshop

This 2-hour Online Workshop allows you to practice Hypnobirthing techniques, ask questions, and learn about how Hypnobirthing can impact your birth experience.  You will receive a workbook in advance of this session along with downloadable MP3s to support your birth preparation.

Hypnobirthing uses breathing, relaxation, visualisation, and positive mindset techniques to help individuals remain calm and manage labour more comfortably.  It is based on the principle that reducing fear and tension, alongside developing an understanding of the physiology of labour and birth, can help the body work more effectively and make each stage feel more manageable.

Many people find that hypnobirthing helps them feel more confident, cope better with contractions, and have a more positive overall birth experience, whatever course their birth may take.

The classes were full of information and we trusted them wholly as two experienced midwives.
